Dikke professor Sherman Klump (Murphy) heeft een spectaculaire, tijdelijke vermageringspil uitgevonden. Nu nog met behulp van liefje Denise (Jackson) afkomen van zijn strakke maar duistere kant Buddy Love. Matig vervolg op The Nutty Professor uit 1996, een remake van de - veel leukere - film van en met Jerry Lewis uit 1963. Nutty Professor II moet het hebben van Murphy die maar liefst acht rollen voor zijn rekening neemt. Dat is bijzonder knap, jammer genoeg heeft de film verder niet veel te bieden behalve lauwe grappen van bedenkelijk allooi.
